Two days of music that stays true to the tent.
The band is where the authenticity argument is won or lost, so we do not compromise on it. Bavarian brass leads, everything else follows. Here is who is playing across Friday and Saturday and what time you need to take your seat.
Die Kirchdorfer
Die Kirchdorfer are the real deal — the resident band from the Hacker-Pschorr tent at Munich’s own Oktoberfest. This year marks their 14th trip to Windhoek, flying in from Bavaria to play for us.
The band you would hear in a Munich tent is the band you hear in Olympia. Same brass, same repertoire, same beat that gets a table on its feet by the second song.

Schaftlacher-Schuhplattler
The traditional slapping dance, performed by the young men of the tent and judged, unofficially, by everyone watching. Loud, fast and unmistakably Bavarian.

THE GAMES THAT MAKE THE FEST
Every one of these runs on the stage, in front of everyone, and has done for decades. Come and watch or come and enter.
Two nights, minute by minute.

Beer tents
The tent is the focus point. Long tables, no strangers by the second round and a brass band close enough that you feel it as much as hear it. Find a bench, get comfortable and expect the people beside you to become the reason you stayed until the end. Gemütlichkeit is the word for it and there is no direct translation, but you will know it when you are sitting in it.
Main bars
Festbier is on tap, brewed by Namibia Breweries to the 1516 Reinheitsgebot, the Bavarian purity law. Nothing else is needed. There is a full bar alongside it for anyone who wants something different, including soft drinks for the designated drivers and the under-eighteens.
VIP areas
The VIP area sits close enough to the stage to feel the brass, far enough from the queue to keep your seat. Your own table for the day, your own bar service and somewhere to put everyone you brought with you.
Amusement rides
Rides run across both days — the easy answer for afternoons with the family, keeping everyone occupied for as long as you need.
