The questions we hear the most.
Friday and Saturday 30 and 31 October 2026, at Sport Klub Windhoek in Olympia.
Not a word. The experience is Bavarian, the welcome is Namibian and everyone is invited. You need a thirst and a willingness to sing badly in a language you may not speak.
No. The festival is cashless. You load money onto your wristband at a top-up station and tap to pay everywhere on the grounds. Whatever you do not spend, you cash out.
You do not have to. Most people do. Dirndl for the women, Lederhosen for the men and nobody will be checking any labels. One thing worth knowing before you tie it: on a Dirndl, a bow on the left means single, a bow on the right means taken.
Gate tickets are limited and they do sell out. Buying online is the safer bet and it is also cheaper.
Friday and Saturday opening times are still being confirmed — check back closer to the date.
Yes. There is a dedicated kids area with jumping castles and rides across both days. Children under seven do not pay entry fees.
The Bavarian band that plays Munich’s own Oktoberfest and flies to Windhoek to play ours. 2026 is their fourteenth trip down and they are the reason this festival sounds the way it does.
Festbier is the festival beer. A Maß is the litre mug. Brezel is the pretzel, Hendl the chicken and Schweinshaxe the pork knuckle. Fassanstich is the tapping of the first keg, Schuhplattler the slapping dance, Bierkönigin the Beer Queen. Prost is cheers. That is all of it and nobody will test you.
Our refund and transfer policy is still being finalised — details will be posted here.
Children are welcome on both days and are priced by age bracket. Alcohol is served to over-eighteens only, with ID.
We are still confirming whether an evening curfew or accompanied-minor rule applies — check back before the event.
Under seven come in for free. Seven to thirteen and fourteen to seventeen are priced separately. See the tickets page.
The full gate policy — bags, cameras, chairs, outside food and drink — is still being finalised.
It is a beer festival. Plan how you get home before you arrive. Leave the car at home and catch a ride with one of the local services, LEFA or Yango or book a taxi you trust. If you are driving, decide who is not drinking before you leave the house. There are soft drinks at every bar.
Pace yourself, drink water alongside the beer and treat the people around you and the staff the way you would want to be treated. That is the whole etiquette guide. The rest is singing.
Yes. Medical services are on the grounds on both days and the station is marked on the festival map. If you need help, ask any staff member and they will get you there.
